It Is What It Is

When I look at what’s before me, I have to admit that I get anxious.  I don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring, and that is very disturbing to someone like me who likes to plan out their days.  Things really were simpler in the good old days, not so long ago.  You could work for a decent  company your entire life, retiring at 65 with a good with a decent pension.  When you worked for the government, you were set.  Your employers valued your service and loyalty.

Those days are long gone, doubtful to return.

I get anxious.  I wonder what will happen during the next five years, let alone when I’m a senior citizen.  I am concerned about the future for my son, his friends, the kids at our church, the young people across the globe.  What have my generation and the ones before it done?  It’s ugly, truly ugly.

But God is still in control.

The true Master of the universe, the Creator of it, is still alive, well and in control.  I am so thankful for the ways in which He continues to prove this fact to me, even in my fear.  He alleviates that fear by proving his sovereignty in all things.  I see situations that are hopeless and He proves His majesty in the midst of the storm.

I have not had a decent job in six years, yet He’s sustained us.

I didn’t think there was hope left for my son and his behavior.  My boy is becoming a mighty man of God, who puts his daddy to shame.

When there is no room to turn my head, God’s light appears in the darkness, showing the way in EVERY situation I’ve faced.

Yeah, I get anxious, but my Father in heaven told me what to do in times like this.  He told me to pray and trust Him.  As I do this more and more, He proves His Word to be true.

I love that phrase:  It is what it is.  What is, is that God promised to never leave us or forsake us.  He is our Father and He cares for us.  He will see us through if we love, trust and obey Him.  Who can stand up to God?  I LOVE knowing that my Father has my back!

I included some references below, that I loosely quoted above.  Read for your own support and find more.  Please share them.  Continued inspiration keeps us going.  Remember: “And they overcame him (the dragon/devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
